I have a SFS HW95 in .20, my favourite gun. They imported and tuned it for me, I think it is only a stage one tune but it shoots lovely.

I also have an HW98 .177 with home fitted Lazerglided internals, I enjoy shooting the 95 more.

In the questions asked to Tony Wall at Sandwell Fields , i asked about tuning my AA T Rex and was told - no, it is already done, the most i could do is add a tiny blob of thick grease to the spring guide.

Very honest, straight talking lad i thought,- thank you Tony.

What you have said is basically what makes AA springers so good. He does to the HW lot what AA do at the factory with some other small bits of course. You have to ask yourself, what are you gonna benefit from when you own what is the standard of factory tuned rifles already? Your TX. In all honesty you don't need another springer in .177. I know you want one but I'm just saying. If you where to get it in twenty two, then there's another discussion altogether.

get your hands dirty, pretty simple the 97. don't get the sissy cal or a thumbhole though

it wont be much different to your trex though mark if that's been sorted.

iv shot a few, shot one that hadn't been touched since day one over 25 year old and still sweet as a nut.

its the only rifle iv ever shot that's sweeter than my .22 97.

Both similar age, and both in mint condition.

 

The 95 is just one of those guns which has turned out to be a very good package, almost better than it's component parts.

 

I shot an old 95 .177 a few years ago with nothing more than a re-lube and a Coke can piston sleeve, that gun was one of the nicest air rifles I have ever shot.

My last 97 sporter in 22 had

 

full vmach kit

 

welsh willy trigger

 

and was tuned and polished to with in an inch of its life

 

i was at the shooting range and handed it over to Marksman off here he had a few go,s of it and say,d it was as good or if not better than a stage two sfs rifle with that he sat back down and shot it most of the day lol

 

I asked him again if he really thought it was as good and he say,d yes it is how much do you want for it lol

Took the SFS hw98 in the long shed that has lights after work and put some pellets through it.

The 95 was great and I would have another one tuned in the fullness of time but for now all I can say is that the SFS hw98 is very very very creamy in fact double whipped cream.

I have noticed that the HW's seem to be hot sellers on the second hand market but know the Walther and AA are great rifles.
