ratbuster 808
Living on the edge of our village I have a large beech hedge around our house. That hedge is sparrows kingdom; raising their kids, making a mess and ravaging my vegetable garden until recently.... Nowadays their peaceful life has been disturbed by this young fellow , a genuine sparrow hawk, he really is frightening the helll out of them

neil cooney 10,416
I don't know which I'd rather see, a flock of sparrows or a sparrowhawk. The sparrow hawk I would think must have a very high success rate. I seen one a few weeks ago ambush a flock of linnets. I wasn't sure if he was successful so I walked over to the hedge to see if there was a victim. The linnets were all frozen in the undergrowth paralyzed with fear. I reckon I could have picked some of them up. I seen that sparrowhawk make three kills that week.

ratbuster 808
Thanks guys, it's privilege to have this kind of wildlife so close to home (I'm sure the sparrows think otherwise )
