trapperman 476
After much reading of reviews and comments and watching of utube videos I went to the gun shop today to treat myself, I still wasn't 100% what to get when I walked through the door but knew that I wanted a good old spring gun as I like the simplicity of pocket full of pellets grab gun and go I've done the pneumatic thing years ago (mk1 rapid) and loved it but wanted to keep the cost down and have less bits and bobs I decided to get a TX200 in .177 , all my others air guns over the years have been .22 so just fancied a change, I put a hawke 3-9x50 ao ir sport hd scope on a one piece mount on top I've been down the smallholding this afternoon to set up scope and must say I'm very impressed the thing is accurate as hell and very smooth to shoot and surprisingly easy to cock I even got my first kill, a young magpie in the tree tops All in all I'm very happy and slightly pissed as I also got my first scratch on the stock ? but I think I made a good choice hopefully 5 Quote Link to post

Rez 4,961
Nice rifles mate. I had one years ago but can't shoot a springer to save my lifeI like that. Not many on here would admit that. Credit due. Not many of us can really, even though we may think we can. Who can honestly say there as good as it gets when shooting such an unpredictable outfit... Maybe some of the top HFT/FT lads might, but I guess they don't frequent these forums, and there springers aren't really springers the amount of work done inside. 1 Quote Link to post

If I miss a bunny with one of the springers I think 'bugger' if I miss with the hw100 I think 'what the f**k are you playing at you dick head!'. I enjoy the challenge of maintainig consitency with the springers. pcp is point and shoot. The misus did 4xduck shoot and reset in 6 shots at 35 yard last weekend .....her first ever go with an airrifle. 2 Quote Link to post
ryaldinhio 5,189
I have a tx200 trapper man. I like the gun, good to shoot, accurate amd consistent but I find it a bit awkward to load especially in the dark, Im used to breakbarrels. Once I sit and have a plink with it for ten mins I get into the swing of it though. Im sure you will love it and have no issues with this if its ur only gun, its only because I revert back to my hw100 or 99 breakbarrel that I struggle with the loading. Practice makes perfect. mark williams 7,568
You have chosen a rifle and caliber you will not regret TM. I was honing my springer shooting today in my garden on 35 yd targets with my brand new (1 month old) TX 200 HC .177. I was sat on my old jack pyke pigeon bucket and shooting off sticks. Most shots struck within a 5p area, but none "ish" outside of a 10p area. I find the T-Rex a heavy gun but on sticks she just "clamps herself in" and is really right in the argument with my 100`s. On loading the gun - no contest,- HW easily wins.T Rex accuracy is "superb". As a hide gun the T Rex springer is outstanding but heavy for a mooch around gun, or do i have noodle arms atb Edited July 11, 2015 by mark williams Quote Link to post
