Jonathan Olds 9
Hi, just interested to see what people's opinions are for best zero distance on HW100 .177 I shoot rabbit, rats and pigeons anything from 15 yards out to 50 yards. I also use JSB Exact Match Diablo pellets. Quote Link to post
ArchieHood 3,692
Anywhere between 30 and 40 yds.I would try and set up some targets at different ranges and practice until your happy. That way it will all be in your head whereas with Chairgun Pro it's on your hard drive...... 1 Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,568
Hi Jonathan, .177 running at about 11.5 ft/lbs using AA Fields 8.4 grain, zero at 37 yds or 33.4 mtrs, your pellet will stay within a 1 inch flight path from aprox` 9 yds to 41 yds. After 41 yds your mill dots/ranges will kick in and you must know them precisely according to your scope/ set up. Hope it helps any. Edited July 6, 2015 by mark williams 2 Quote Link to post

treecreeper 1,136
Same as mark, but I use jsb exacts which are pretty much identical to the aa fields anyway. Chairgun is bang on if you put the right figures into it though. Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,589
I zero my .177 rifles at 35 metres. I find that does pretty well for all my shooting. Very similar to Mark's findings with his I think. 40 yards is THE optimum range distance for .177.30 yards Optimum for .22. I zero at 30 metres for this calibre which puts everything within reasonable killing ranges. 1 Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,568
Yes, with Simon on the .22 zero also, using Air Arms Fields, running at about 11.5 ft/lbs, my HW 100 ks is zeroed at 28 yds giving the pellet a flight path within an inch circle from 7yds to 31yds. No hold under is needed with this zero but hold over is after 31 yds.So you will need to learn your mill dots / ranges above 31 yds precisely. Again hope it helps any.
