Blackbriar 8,569
I can quite happily pass an hour or two watching most sports, but I just don't 'get' tennis ! There are huge queues of people waiting to buy tickets, but I can't seem to summon up the slightest interest. I tried to watch a bit of Wimbledon yesterday afternoon - I lasted less than 15 minutes. Dull, dull, dull ! Chuck the ball up, whack it once or twice, fist pump, repeat..... Just watching BBC this morning, and I'm already sick of the mention of Wimbledon. "Let's go live now to watch a bloke cutting the grass"....." Let's go live now, where there another bloke painting a white line"......."Lets go live now to the weather girl, who by total coincidence is at Wimbledon" and so on and so on...... Am I missing something ? Why dont I enjoy tennis ? Any fans here who can enlighten me ?

Blackbriar 8,569
I think my dislike stems from the fact that tennis is like Tomo's night with the Williams sisters - its all over very quickly ! The players are so powerful that all you have is a serve and a couple of returns. I remember long, thrilling rallies being played by the likes of Borg, Connors and McEnroe, and that seems to have gone now (or is that just nostalgia ?) The game looks like its just down to who can hit it the hardest ! There doesn't seem to be any strategy or plan to it.........but, like I said, maybe I've misjudged it ? marshman 7,758
I feel I might've made a mistake although I still do think tennis is a middle class women's sport , I've come to realise that a lot of working class men watch it to.. .. To knock one out to lol , I mean it's the only place you can legally watch a 16 year old brunette get spanked by a Butch black women ?
