whats people thought on feeding day old chicks to the ferrets as a meal atb mick

I feed mine on them mick, I've just bought 2 boxes £12 a box

I feed mine on them once a week, get them from local pet shop £3 for 50 chicks

Just fluff in a shell is my option they never had time to devolve muscle ,sinews. Bones which your ferret will need they may be fine a odd time but it's like feeding eggs too many could cause baldness and the fluff can iriate the mucus in the ferrets throat pay a bit extra and get a box of chicken carcasses a far better value feed to ferrets , dogs

I used to feed doc once or twice a week purely because ferrets love them, don't think theyre great nutritionally though.

As said not alot of meat on them but the ferrets do love them,

Iv always fed them to the ferrets maybe once a week or sometimes once a fortnight never had any probs with them, rest of the week they get rabbit if i have any in the freezer or i get blocks of minced meat from the petshop, and the odd day they might share a tin of cat food wich i always keep handy for when i forget to defrost the meat,

Day old chicks,no nutrition in them.Ferrets need high protein food.

cant beat a bit of liver.. free if your out and about or cheap if you have a word with the butchers.

 

i would prefer liver cut up in portions in freezer rather than dead chicks, so would ferrets i reckon
