tomburras 2,730
Years ago giving your life for your country would be expected. But for my generation now not needed. God bless those who had to just to get by.

ratbuster 808
The fact that I can live in freedom today, I earn to all those British, Polish, Canadian and American young men who gave their lives to liberate our country. It's now 70 years ago that this country was liberated, and every year we remember them on the 4th of May and celebrate our freedom on the 5th. I live not far from Arnhem, and one of the most shameful things which happened was, that those who fought so hard weren't recognised for their valour, like the Polish para regiment under General Stanislaw Sosabowski, because of the growing fear of communism. The same faith many nowadays soldiers have to live with, not out of fear off communism, but more from political correctness and forgetting who send them over to all those conflicts in the world. Most are gone, but not forgotten We shall not forget ! Edited May 9, 2015 by ratbuster
