non, that my point
You have to use pure running dog blood at some stage ... You can't keep using lurcher to lurcher without the infusion of pure running dog blood so if the lad can get a decent retired bitch that ran injury free with good times then he is on the right road ......

Strange statment, u can breed lurcher to lurcher forever.

If you only breed lurcher to lurcher after awhile they will slow down as the base breeds level out if you know what I mean so you need to add long dog blood to keep the speed up not the best wording but the only way I could think to word it

You can't maintain the quantity of running dog without the infusion of running dog .......

so after a period of time our lurchers turn into collies, bedlingtons, deerhounds ect?

No they don't turn into anything ... They will still be lurchers but over time will have less and less running dog in them .......
