You will never find anything that used to belong to any of my dogs left lying around. To me, it's simple manners - you wouldn't let your kids 5hit on the pavement........

I have quite happily offered bags to people who "seem to have forgotten something", but in the 2 years I've lived here, I've never even seen, let alone spoke to, a dog warden. The very large park nearest to me has one dog waste bin, which offers free bags from a dispenser that is never refilled...........

I reckon there are more practical solutions, which don't require DNA testing dog turds !

(Jeremy Kyle could be put in charge of the scheme - " the DNA results show that Steve...............IS a Cocker Spaniel !)

I've no issue with people being fined for not clearing up their dog's shit, but lets look at this seriously for a minute.

The local authority is going to spend an undisclosed sum of tax payers money to retrieve and analyse dog shit!

They're going to construct a DNA database of collected dog shit!

How are they going to prosecute the owners?

Are they going to spend another undisclosed sum going door to door demand DNA swabs from your dogs to eliminate you from their enquiries?

They're going to hire, and train shit collectors. They're going to have purpose built facilities to house, store and analyse samples... It's an amazing concept that requires nothing more than an undisclosed sum of tax payers money!

It's genius! Don't think about it just pay up!!

Technically it's an offence and the police can stop you for it, but they don't. There are also dog wardens specifically for the problem to ticket offenders

The thing is it's not solving the issue therefore something needs to be done. Like rubbing there faces in it!
