offtheradar 175
Does anyone else on here run this cross or seen them work first hand, I'd heard that there are some in Cumbria and the north east but they dont seem to be common. If anyone has more pictures please put them up I wouldn't have said that mine was very fast but she is quick off the mark and does have good stamina, her coat takes a fair amount of stripping too Quote Link to post
peterbirdman1 206
I have a working GWP dog that I am thinking about putting over my working lurcher bitch next year - 3/4 ghound 1/4 collie. Having had a pointer for 12 years and lurchers for 30+ years, it is something that I have always wanted to do and think the attributes from a GWP would be fantastic in a lurcher. My dog has worked everything that we have thrown at him - ratting, beating, hawking, ferreting and coursing and with the right bitch could produce some good working dogs in the right hands. Loved seeing the 1st cross pics - it has definitely made me seriously think about it now. Will try and get some pics on soon. 1 Quote Link to post

offtheradar 175
Fantastic pictures there birdman, looks like you could have the beginnings of some handy mooching lurchers if you decide to go ahead with a litter. She's never opened up although she will sometimes hunt on when lamping but that's getting less and less with experience Quote Link to post
peterbirdman1 206
a couple more 2 Quote Link to post
peterbirdman1 206
Cheers offtheradar. This pointer has more than proved himself over the last 8 years since I bred him. On all quarry and all types of work - not just to the gun. Edited March 15, 2015 by peterbirdman1 Quote Link to post
