EDDIE B 3,170
Lads just wondering what do ye use to anchor your traps with? I use rebar and earth anchors mostly, so what's yer preference! Wooden pegs, rebar, anchors, tied off, other? Also, bought, or a bit of DIY? Quote Link to post
J Darcy 5,871
I use anchors, the cheap berkshire ones do me fine., But I also like a 12 inch length of 3/8 rebar with a bolt welded to the top. Nice and cheap and solid. Wire, too is easy, I often wire them off to suitable trees... 1 Quote Link to post
outandabout 27
Wire to a tree or something close, or wire up to a thick hazel peg - small hole drilled about 1" from the top. Was looking at the uktraps pegs the other day, they look tidy but I'll make my own if I need something more stout than hazel. 1 Quote Link to post

Hope I'm wrong, I like their website and range of products. I've had good service from them in the past, but only bought some fenns. Quote Link to post

FENN 24
I try to steer away from welded nuts on any anker as this could be a week spot .I make my own out of small pipe i get from bq costs about £3 per length .I cut the pipe into about 3 inch sections and drill a 4mm hole in center of the pipe .I then put 2mm cable through and attach a washer and end stop .The other end of the cable i just use a double ferrule and form a loop to attach the trap ,snare ect to . It's bunnies and mink etc we're trapping mate. We've nothing in this country that will find and utilise a 'weak' spot on a length of 3/8 rebar. The Americans all use this method and they're anchoring for coyotes and wolves ha ha Quote Link to post

I've had them for years, and suspect they are the Network ratchet type. I'd post a picture of them, but they are currently on my workbench 100 miles away. When I bought anchors off Arrow, I fitted my own cable. Quote Link to post
