Trap Anchors/pegs!

Recommended Posts

Wire to a tree or something close, or wire up to a thick hazel peg - small hole drilled about 1" from the top.

Was looking at the uktraps pegs the other day, they look tidy but I'll make my own if I need something more stout than hazel.

Yea i've seen those from UKtraps, but never considered buying any! I wonder do they sell, is their much demand for them!

The items they manufacture look bloody good, but yeah I doubt there's all that much demand.

Hope I'm wrong, I like their website and range of products. I've had good service from them in the past, but only bought some fenns.

I try to steer away from welded nuts on any anker as this could be a week spot .I make my own out of small pipe i get from bq costs about £3 per length .I cut the pipe into about 3 inch sections and drill a 4mm hole in center of the pipe .I then put 2mm cable through and attach a washer and end stop .The other end of the cable i just use a double ferrule and form a loop to attach the trap ,snare ect to .

It's bunnies and mink etc we're trapping mate. We've nothing in this country that will find and utilise a 'weak' spot on a length of 3/8 rebar. The Americans all use this method and they're anchoring for coyotes and wolves ha ha

Arrow anchors.

I can't recommend them highly enough

Matt, which crimpers would you recomend for the double ferrels from them ?, mine dont seem to work on the ones i bought,

Cheers

Brian

To be honest mate, I don't know what sort mine are....

I've had them for years, and suspect they are the Network ratchet type. I'd post a picture of them, but they are currently on my workbench 100 miles away.

When I bought anchors off Arrow, I fitted my own cable.
