bigmac 97kt 13,836
Had one of those days yesterday got a call off daz39 some time last week to say we were going to one of his factory units perms and i was looking forward to it . So the day came i had work in the morning and i rushed on to get finished the shooting gear was sorted and the battery's were charged the time was fixed to set off at three pm. I got to the perm for 2,50 pm and the security man on the gate let me in he was shaking his head and laughing so i parked up the tank and went in to see him he show,d me the cctv screens the place was like a ww2 bomb site . loads of building work and demolition work going on and to top it off a feck load of land scaping going on with big earth movers . Yep you quest it all the borrows were gone along with the rabbits ,i then got a call off daz to say he could not make it but to crack on and enjoy my self yer right i was then told i could not shoot till 4pm until all the staff has left. So i had a walk round (with no rifle )just to have a look at what was going on and all the places that were lifting with rabbits were gone every one of them. 4pm came and off i went with the ultra 22 but it was a wast of time so i signed out and went to see if Sean (vislauk) wanted to go to the farm and a time was set . I gave zandy01 a call to see if he wanted to come but he had a stake dinner waiting for him so he could not come. Me and vislauk got to the farm he headed off and i went to set zero on the scorpion 177 with nv i used one of the tips off another thread about the cardboard box and lamp in the box and the reflective strips off an old work coat feck me its good and the nv picks up the strips no problem and the lamp in the box shines through when you hit the box letting you see where you need to move zero nice tip that. Zero set off i went but im still new to all of this nv shooting and to be honest im finding it hard to get on with but ill get there in the end i came across a few but some thing was still making them run roll on the dry weather and i can lay up for them. After a bite to eat me and Sean set off again we come up to the little garden field(as we call it ) and i scanned it with the nv and totally missed the rabbit sitting (got to get used to this) but to be honest even Sean missed it with his lamp but as he scanned back he picked it up it was sitting with its back to us Sean took aim with the HW100 SPORTER at 55 yards(PACED) and let loose . And over it went it just lay down lovely shot placement and in his words I LOVE THIS FECKING RIFLE Well most of the night for me went the same way as the rest of the day fecked up lol BUT I WILL GET THE HANG OF THE NV im going to get out a few times this week with it just to try and get this old dog to learn a new trick lol atvbmac  PS, Andy iv got one for your mother inlaw complements of SEAN ill drop it in to day some time bud ill bell you when im on my way 2 Quote Link to post

vizlauk 1,568
It's a strange place to shoot Jimmy, as you know 1 day the rabbits will sit on a white light, next time you go they bolt on a white lamp, the red lamp last night worked ! Was a few about when we first got to the farm , but very little showing when we had a wonder, must say what a cracking shot the 1 that I managed to shoot, only 3 shots fired all night, 2 of those were just to unload the gun while resting and packing up for the night ! 1 Quote Link to post
