I'd be seeking out the real out of the way stuff where folk think petrol is a drink as they've got no vehicle to put it in. To be fair I think too much planning could take a bit out of the whole experience. The mad dash for the line when you're miles away from home and only have 24hrs left to get back in, that would bring a few stories. There has been a lot of conflict over the years with one country conquering the other or just arguing and when you win you don't take back the ugly women!! Think Scandinavia and the Vikings.
