bird 10,014
My dogs come out the kennel at least a couple of times a day. I never clean a poo or a piss out of the kennel. Dogs are mostly naturally clean, even my pups that I am running on will piss and shit away from the kennel/run and they are only 17 weeks. All of them are house trained and they live outside. What I'm saying is if a dog is given an option it will be clean. yeh, fair point my 2 never piss or shit in there yard, they hold there selves till on the dog walk, that's ok but sometimes when ive gone out for most of the day for what ever reason, I always have make sure I get back in time for them . my wife moans why carnt they just go out side in the yard , as most dogs prob would . ive told her loads of times that they wont and a lot of dogs are the same, feck me my young dog wont even piss when on the lead , he likes to be off loose to cock his leg bloody dogs lol
Casso 1,264
The pup is uncomfortable in its surroundings , which is understandable if you only have it a while, in other words it feels under pressure, one of the ways dogs relieve pressure is just that , they relieve themselves, As said earlier it will sort itself out in time when it adjusts to life there , don't crowd it give it space, don't fuss over it , it's functioning on instincts, hand feeding helps overcome fear but no fussing or over stimulation Best of luck with the pup bud

skycat 6,174
This problem sometimes happens if the pup has been reared in a closed in space, like a stable or shed with no outside run, so it has always had to empty itself in the same area and on the same type of surface on which it slept and ate. The only way to cure it, in my experience, is to take it right out of that environment and start again. Preferably in the house in a crate with bedding and newspaper: bedding one end of the crate, newspaper at the other. Taking the pup out a VERY frequent intervals will eventually teach it that it doesn't pee or crap where it sleeps. If the pup is timid or fearful of its surroundings this won't help either.
