neil cooney 10,416
Great pic. One thing I've noticed the last few year is that a lot of these great pics are taking with trail cameras. I'm not saying that one was, but IMO it's cheating.

mushroom 14,016
Surely you have to scout the best possible position for a trail cam... Just my thoughts
neil cooney 10,416
There was an award winning photograph a few years ago of a wolf jumping a gate. Unbelievable picture but the owner of the trail cam was in bed when it was took. No skill there IMO. I can't see how that photo Jigsaw put up could be taken with a trail cam though, so IMO that takes patience and skill to be there at the right moment. It's a great, dramatic pic. Neil, I think you might be mistaken. That photo was outed as a fake as the wolf was, in fact, a hired tame animal. It wasn't a trail cam that took the picture, it was a rigged multiple flash set-up to freeze the wolf as it jumped over a wooden latted 'gate'. trail cams do not have the quality yet, but they are superb for watching shy animals and I use them extensively. In future years the pixels will become better andthey will be of the same quality as todays top DSLR's in my opinion. That pic posted will not have been from a trail cam as the action isn't blurred, with a trailcam the shutter speed isn't fast enough to freeze such fast action. JMHO...JD
mushroom 14,016
Seem to remember reading about a bloke rigging his top of the range SLR camera (nikkon D90 or summat) to a trailcam that fired his camera off. I've looked but can't find it now
J Darcy 5,871
why not just get an IR trigger, that kind of thing isn't expensive anymore....
