Fantastic jackets - might be little on warm side at times if you're quite active with dogs but it'll last you years...

 

I've had loads of outdoor/mountaineering style jackets and proper expensive and have gone back to Barbour...

 

Can't go far wrong imho...

Not very good IMO , was out beating all day last weekend in heavy rain ,and it came through ,I had to go back to the car and get my gortex . May need rewaxing I think .

Iv'e never got wet in my Barbours over the years but they do need rewaxing now and then.

But iv'e had Goretex that has let water in.

I've got one of there modern cotton jackets,,,not waxed,,,cost 250 ish,,,beautiful looking smart coat,,,,,but utter wank in the rain...

I've a Linhope one. had it 3 years. been everywhere and done alsorts in it. never let me down apart from the handwarmer pockets not zipping up. not been reproofed either. Out on a cabless tractor and 6 inch of rain fell. still dry as snuff

Had one of those too Tomo. Hard wearing but held water like a sponge. Leaked like fook an all
