Can Mods Be Worn Out ?

Took end of the moderator to try clean internals a bit better and as the last owner of the set up I got had never cleaned it thought I would have a go .

There was a black pad wrapped round a vented tube the pad was brittle from half way up and crumbling to bits. Take it this should not be like this and is it time to get another mod ?

.17hmr mods can and do wear out mate.

As said try and get some pics up mate.

 

If it says .22lr on it then surely its not adequate for hmr mate.

 

Although even a dedicated hmr proofed silencer will wear over time. And wear quick with alot of rounds in one sitting.

With a pad inside it sounds like an air rifle mod.

 

Anyhow, just chuck it away, a decent SAK is cheap. I've got a spare I could give you buts it's on my FACert. and would need to be in person.

 

PS. When I say "chuck it away" you need to get a RFD to dispose of it otherwise it will still be on your cert.

Agree with the above sounds like the baffle on a air rifle mod. Chuck it away and get a new mod

Bin it and buy a sak they are only about £35.

I had a hogun decimeater on my hmr and that was great. A little better than a sak but for the money saks are great.

Parker hale mods on a 22lr are good as anything and only about £20

I got a sak on my 17 does the job no problem
