You dont want it to tight, or you'll be applying for your ticket aswell... Although, not sure how it works in France, if thats were you are based.

Nice one.

Oh yes I do.

It's a FAC 97K, and I have a French gun licence. If you look at my signature, you'll see that it covers a multitude of sins... :D

I'd hazard a guess at yes its made big to perhaps accommodate the difference in cylinder diameters.

I fit mines onto the piston then tape the scraper ring onto the piston to stop the seal revolving then stick it in the lathe and apply gentle pressure on the sides of the seal with fine wet and dry.

Doesn't take much, just a bit of trial and error.

Save up for a V-glide they are things of beauty and brilliant performers.

My .177 will piss over pcp's any day.

For a springer its really easy to shoot apart from weighing nearly a stone scoped which doesnay put a solid built Scots loon like myself off :gunsmilie: :gunsmilie:

OK, couple of tetchnikal questions for you, since you seem to spend most days with your head stuck inside a Weihrauch with a V-Mach kit in your hand! ;)

Firstly, the V-Mach fitting instructions say that you should install the piston sleeve "with the open section opposite to the slot in the piston". Now, this can mean two things. Either you install it with the two slots in line, so you can still see the spring through the slot in the piston. Or, you install the sleeve with its open section at the far side of the piston, so when you look into the slot in the piston, all you can see is the piston sleeve. Do you know which way is the correct way?

Secondly, the instructions say "The nylon space supplied is designed to locate over the guide tube to add additional pre-compression if required to increase performance". Do you happen to know if this means the rear piston guide or the front piston guide? Presumably it sits between the spring and the flat end of the guide tube, but it's not clear if it sits over the piston guide or the top hat (front guide).

Always a genuine pleasure to find Chris has posted a write up about his tuning and fettling work on his HW80. Always something new he's done.

I'd love a shot or two with it Chris mate as, I think yours is as good as mine any day. And mine's a total bloody one-in-thousand Gem of an HW80.#

Best regards Chris.

Many thanks Simon.

It would be a pleasure to let you shoot any of my springers mate.

One of these days i might have the time to go to one of the meets and see what you think of the guns and if there is anything you think i might do to improve them.

All the best

In reply to your questions Coypu, there is only one way of fitting the sleeve as Steve Pope states in the instruction, the sleeve gap is at the opposite side of the cocking slot.

So when you fit it you don't see the spring in a 97.

The next answer is you have a spring guide at the thread end of the cylinder.

This is the one longer of the guides, the short stubby guide is known as a tophat.

In my experience it makes no difference where you put the delrin washer but I'd stick with the instructions from V-mach.

Time for this geek to go fishing tonight then some springer action tomorrow.

Cheers for the compliments guys.

Maybe one of these days Villaman, thanks for the invite mate, a pleasure it would be I'm sure, I'm no expert though just a keen amateur, oh and I support Man United :thumbs:

INCOMING!!!!................. :icon_eek::D

I'd say I'm a tad mad when it comes to Weihrauchs, its bordering nay it is an obsession that will never leave me.

I'm now thinking there must be something else I could do to my home tuned .22 97k since my .22 V-mach fac 80 and V- glide .177 97k are as far asI can take them.

I might go for a V-glide for this one too along with another home made setback trigger.

Pigeon shooting tomorrow though with pics to follow.

Can't wait as my 2 best pals/sons are coming out too.

All the best
