hi all do any of you suspend your bitches season, if so which one do you use and what are the problems you have had ?

I wouldn't bother with it to be honest, for the same of a month. Funny things to be messing with hormones

Tried it several times with various methods: testosterone, oestrogen, and Supralorin that acts as a chemical 'castrator' in bitches as well as dogs.

Never again. It messes with their heads as well as their bodies.

I had my little JRT brought out using it once because she was in season around Christmas time, I was having a load of family round and I couldn't be bothered with the extra stess that my lurcher pining for her would bring. That was 3 years or so back and she hasn't had a proper season since..

A friend of mine had a bitch brought out of season (not sure what with though) when she was quite young. She never came into season again and the friend was gutted as she turned into a lovely bitch that she wanted to breed from but couldn't. Personally I'd be very wary of doing it to any bitch of mine.

ive stopped my lurchers coming in season and bred from them as well held them off to after feb with no problems

Plan a mating you really want to do that should stop them, it does with my mates bitches anyway
