Sight Issue

Recommended Posts

So got the ultra out for a plink, not been used for a few months, went to zero the sight, and it shot low, so adjusted the turret, no difference, from full down to full up, with the same poa, it hits the same spot.. i think that something is stuck, any ideas on a cure... Its a Falcon Merlin scope

Cheers, and no hold over comment :D lol

Cheers for the reply

Refiled, 20 shots fired, all hit around the same spot, in a nice group 4" down from the poa....all the mountings have been checked, hence i think its the sight :(

Possibly a stuck or broken turret/lens. Managed to do that to a bushnell once. Gunsmith or manufacturer may be the best option. I chucked mines as i had snapped the small brass stem that pushes down on the spring loaded lens with the reticle printed on it. Completely buggered it being a bit rough. Hopefully yours is just stuck and in need of a bit of tlc.

I watched a YouTube vid and the guy was zeroing a scope and recommended tapping the scope lightly with a small block of wood as the internals don't always move instantly when clicked. Don't know if this is nonsense, but I'd definitely give mine a tap just for the hell of it.

As above. Its worth trying giving it a sharpish (but not too sharp) tap whilst trying to zero to either Max or min elevation, if its just stuck a bit it may be enough to shock it free. Its a very long shot but if the alternative is scrapping the scope any things worth trying, nothing to lose and all the rest :)
