Very easy people talk shit about thinks they have not got a clue about. If it works for the fella and does the job he needs it to do who really cares. plus nice to see one that does not look like a f**

that man in working dogs a lifetime an working ability comes first as an earth dog he wouldnt give that beddy a second glance.but as a dog for beating cover to the gun or ferreting an a bit lamping it

personally my choice would be a lurcher that works cover most dont like the stingys but if brought up from small welps and taken through nothing but woodland and copses through the brish and brash ,surprising how they will adapt all mine have to work the cover with control none this bashing about like headless chickens ,not havin a go but there will be far betta terrier types than the one above for base blood .atb bunnys.

when you say better terrier types than the one above do you mean beddies or a different type of terrier all together for base blood when putting to a whippet etc. atb.

Hareydave, you seem a sensible and level enough sort,my biggest bugbear as a Beddy afficienado is big bushing Bedlingtons, its like a red rag to a Bedlington hating bull, that does,nt bush. There as never been a place in a terrier working kennel for a dog like that, perhaps?.I like Deerhoundy lurchers,id never have anything else,id never breed from a Deerhound,as you rightly pointed out as a working jukel they are less available than a grafting Beddy, possibly rarer.Thats why i look for a Deerhoundy/Collie bred lurcher, which in my opinion,is a better reflection of the original Deerhound than a kc Bred mutt with the same Monicur,id rather have a grafter that looks and behaves like the original,Beddy or Deerhound, than its kc non working equivalent.Cheers mucker.

and the man that owns an works that dog would never breed from inferior stock. that dog when fit is easily spannable an didnt hav much trouble dispatching a dog fox. it a working dog bred of working dogs

a can see where morton coming from using the beddy thats capable for the origional turm of worker means a ground dog no more no less ,anything else would be sub standard and for getting a larger taller animal one can aquire a beddy grey ,from the right stuff stacking the odds in favour of producing preban teeth lurchers one i suppose should try to aquire the real deal when producing animals bred for performance but alass the his not allways possible . IN FAVOUR i would say he may slaugher mostly ought above ground ,so he could be a usefull lurcher producerwho knows till tested .atb bunnys.
