Guest Frank
Nice one, true saluki's, not show stuff. Quote Link to post
Butler 396
Alot of salukiX won't take fox but then again alot of bull bred dogs won't either it's more down to the individual dog IMO rather than how it is bred. But if you get a saluki based lurcher that does take them then you will catch more with it than most other crosses Quote Link to post
daz1976 8
my mate has a saluki 1st cross that use to take fox no problem at all,he was still taking them till he was 9 year old when he retired him Quote Link to post
Guest joe ox
Butler how many saluki's would have to be tried to get the fox killer your talking about? You also say saluki based by that do you mean just saluki x greyhound or other breeds in the mix? Quote Link to post
Meerihunter 7
The Tazi in these Photos are the dogs I saw in Nura, Kazakhstan. They are taking 40- 60 foxes per season. Quote Link to post

The bullys at my school definatley did not have saluki's and I have individually dealt with them since I left school Now can you answer my questions. shaun v 3
they are in the right hands .most of the dogs i have had and had previously have been half breeds. the reason i asked you that question is everytime a saluki is mentioned in a post you try and knock the breed. that brings back memorys of certian people in the eighties who wrote in the then shooting times saying keep well away from this breed they are untrainable [bollocks]. the breed can do alot more than run hares Edited October 5, 2007 by shaun v Quote Link to post
Guest shaheen
Nice pictures shaheen what kind of dogs do you run? Moi?...i dont own a running dog ,but from what ive seen Saluki's float my boat the most and hope to purchase a pup when the time is right .Ive seen other's that belonged to my late father's friends from the late 1980's (Pitt Bull/Greyhounds,Bull/Grey,Deerhound X's and Saluki longdogs) and out of them the salukis and Saluki X's impressed us most. But saying that i like the Irish saying "a good horse is never a bad colour", Cheers Shaheen Edited October 5, 2007 by shaheen Quote Link to post
Guest joe ox
Shaun in the right hands the saluki x are good dogs but they have there limitations on certain quarry same as other breeds which a lot of people fail to realize! I think its been referred to as breed blindness! Quote Link to post
