Hard to say without seeing the nest, location and actual size of the egg, preferably the bird too lol. Looks like a Goldfinch or Linnet. Could even be one of the Tits though. Dont get caught taking photo`s, you might end up handing some cash over to the crown..

Bob's right, mate. Only way to know beyond reasonable doubt would be to see the bird.

 

I'm sure a few of the lads on here could have a good crack at it for ye. But, seeing the hen on them is pretty irrefutable.

 

 

Edited to add; Given the time of year? If that's a wild nest? My money's on robin :yes:

Robin or Dunnock ?

 

Dunnock eggs are sky blue, mate ;)

 

Robins tend to nest about knee to waist height. Often as not in a wall or cover against a wall. They're nesting early (now). Their eggs and nest lining look good for those featured.

 

Truth is? I really couldn't imagine what else it might be, now that we have confirmation that it's a wild nest :yes:
