The only problem is that there are rats everywhere. I can't put poison or traps on the ground as there are dogs up there but I can put them in the loft. Any suggestions people? 1 Quote Link to post

Get to a decent Country store, even DIY/Hardware/Tack store, or take a look on the web! :thumbs: Quote Link to post

Most local authorities still offer subsidised pest control services. They should be your first port of call, not the local DIY store. Properly laid traps and rodenticide bait are no threat to domestic animals. Stop fannying around risking the health of you and yours and call in a professional. Quote Link to post

My friend asked for a council pest control to clear her shed of a rat they wanted to charge her £65.00? one fenn trap later job done FOC. Mole man Kent 26 Posted January 25, 2014 Report Share Posted January 25, 2014 Yes mate that's fair enough you can have ago yourself but like recently in the news a lady had a rat problem, her next door neighbour said don't worry about ringing a pest controller ill sort them for you. He set a few fenn traps and ended up breaking the front leg of a local prize winning pedigree cat and is now in the process of being sued as he didn't know the laws or legislation on how to use the trap. Sometimes it is best to call a professional in. Just imagine if that was the hand or foot of a toddler? Quote Link to post

It is lucky for the lady that you were available to deal with her one rat FOC. Similar scenario:- I went round to a neighbour's house last month because he dishwasher was broken. She had been quoted £115.00 (+ VAT) for a guy to come out and look at it (first hour included). It was a blocked hose and I was able to sort it for here FOC. Does the fact that I sorted her problem out make the Dishwasher specialist a rip off? It was easy to sort out on this occasion, but what if had been something beyond my limited skill set? Would the dishwasher specialist have been a rip off then? Is £115.00 always a rip off? he would have had to drive for more than 45 minutes to get here, still a rip off? To control the rat problem several visits are likely; £65? Cheap as chips. Quote Link to post

On the subject of going out, how much would be a reasonable amount to spend on a night out these days? £65 to visit at least twice, and supply materials and everything else? Peanuts...
