Jln 5
Right lads, I have a air arms s410 which I bought pre owned, it had carbon wrap all over the gun and I guess curiosity got the better of me, I decided to remove the wrap, low and behold pitting, surface rust and just general untidiness. I bought this gun to use in the damper weather and around the cold periods of the year so painting the gun seemed like a good idea. I love the look of a blued rifle, I can't find any paint that even resembles the look of it, I have also toyed with the idea of having the gun dipped in a real tree cammo effect hydro graphic as well as sanding the rust back and finding more of the carbon wrap used by the previous owner. If I prep the metal myself I can have the gun re blued for £60-£75 If I decide to attempt to spray the total cost would be less that £20, saying that it would be my first attempt and I don't want to hate the gun lol. Cammo hydro dipping is £100 - £120 Carbon wrap is £10 I'd just like to say the gun is great appart from the metal surface and I've started to wish I'd never removed the wrap in the first place, I didn't want to have to put any more money into the gun as I paid quite a fair amount for it. Most of the work would require me to strip and paint the surface as I don't want the rust to come back. I also plan on keeping the gun so re sell value is not a big thing. I want to be able to use this where and wherever without worrying about rust. Needless to say any opinions are much appreciated guys. JLN 1 Quote Link to post

vizlauk 1,568
Just carbon wrap it , clean metalwork down first, then after it's been wrapped it will be waterproof, just a quick wipe down ! Quote Link to post
