Drop shipping while sounding good, relies on your partner to deliver on time, which from the drop shippers I have seen on ebay does not happen.that often. There are a lot of firms in the channel islan

If you want to buy and sell you won't earn any money out of it unless you have the bollocks to get your hand in your pocket, lay your money out an take your chances.   There's no such thing as money

Drop shipping is a retail method in which you don't keep products in stock. Instead, you partner with a wholesale supplier that stocks its own inventory - you transfer customer orders and shipment details to them, and they ship the goods directly to the customer. The biggest benefit of drop shipping is you don't have to worry about fulfillment or inventory issues.

Also, most customers don't know you're drop shipping, since "private label shipping" lets you ship from the wholesaler with a return address and invoice customized to your ecommerce store.

You learn something new everyday.... thanks guys.

It's not a term I was familiar with, although I am familiar with the concept. I'm guessing that it's a post e-commerce americanism.

Been around for a while mate. I'll let some of you guys who want to make a few quid working from home into a secret. Won't affect me I've moved on from there  a LOT of eBay shops are just guys like us drop shipping. For £19.99 a month you can get an eBay shop, find a couple of drop shipping manufacturers, for £19.99 a month I think your allowed to list 200 items. Build up a shop, link their stock levels to your shop, the customer pays you, you order the stuff from the manufacturer giving customers details, you keep the profit, they get the stuff as if its from you. I've got a couple of sites I use but was wondering if anyone had any more

i still don't get it !

To put it simple person (a ) has a product, person (b ) advertises person (a )'s product and person (c ) buys the product.

Person (a ) - supplier

Person (b ) - middle man

Person (c ) - customer

So let's go through this one more time..............

A sells something he hasn't got to C, but asks B to drop it off for him. If C isn't in, B has to phone P to arrange to leave it next door with T , otherwise F will come along and nick it, so he can fence it to K down the pub later on..........................

No?

the last bit is correct :D

A has the product

B advertises the product

C buys the product off B

B sends A the dispatch list / order

A posts the item to C

if C isnt in to accept the item then the postman will proberly leave a note to say they will redeliver or have taken the item to the nearest collection point.

the object is for B to be able to sell a product without the investment, but will get a % of the profit

Seems a complicated alternative to getting a job.........lol

a and b are both employers c obviously has a job or he would not be able to afford to buy off b

So A and B employ C ? I thought C was the customer ? Are A and B related or do they just work together ? I'm getting confused again............................
