shropshire dan 467
Hi anyone used the above ammo and what are your thoughts? Thanks in advance Atb Dan Quote Link to post
Yokel Matt 918
Inconsistent velocity and accuracy in experience. Quote Link to post
walshie 2,804
I find they are a very tight fit in my bolt action. Maybe a few thou longer overall than other brands. Quote Link to post
shropshire dan 467
Cheers guys ill stick to winchester subs thanks Atb Dan Quote Link to post
Deker 3,491
I would buy a box and try for what they cost. I haven't used them for years but they were as good as any in mine, the odd bang and the odd thud, and in my CZ they did chamber tight, but so did several CCI varieties! Quote Link to post
bear-uk 17
They work brill in my old Anschutz. Winny subs seem to be inconsistent for me. Quote Link to post
shropshire dan 467
Cheers Deker I'm going to try a few diffrent bullets in the gun. But had a go with a cz452 yesterday compliments of slipper (chris) And he used winchester subs and swears by them as so many others do. So they will certainly be on top of the list. Thanks again Quote Link to post
andyf 144
Hi: I've tried most of the 'common' brands over the years, CCI subs are in my experience 'average' at best, their HV are much better. My favoured brand subs are Winchester followed by RWS, then Eley. As for HV Velocitor are easily the best I've ever used, and for plinking Geco 42gr Solids are brilliant, easily the most consistant of all and better than any of the others above by a big margin. But they're solids and no good for hunting, and they richochet very badly, so if you get some to try be careful. AndyF Quote Link to post
shropshire dan 467
Thanks Andy, I have got to try some velocitors Quote Link to post
Deker 3,491
Thanks Andy, I have got to try some velocitors Back in the day when I used HV in the .22lr my CZ really liked Remington Yellow Jacket HP, they were 1500ft sec and about 32g I think, they worked well but supply was an issue. Second choice, and much more commonly used, was the Velocitors. They are relatively powerful for a .22lr and did work quite well in mine, but the HP didn't expand that well (compared to the Yellow Jacket) and there were plenty of times they went clean through the fox hardly noticing it. As HV goes in a .22lr I found them pretty good though! Quote Link to post
