Mustelid 144
One of the best all round hunting dogs I've ever seen was a border collie by the name of Moss. He's long retired now but he helped his owner catch a lot of game. Does anyone use a collie for bushing? Quote Link to post

treecreeper 1,136
if you have the time and the desire, you can teach them anything. probably one of the smartest breeds. Edited November 23, 2013 by treecreeper Quote Link to post
Mustelid 144
The one I know would work nets well, kill rats happily, retrieve a pheasant over a five bar gate when out beating... you name it, Moss seemed able to do it! If I could guarantee one like him I'd get a pup tomorrow! Quote Link to post

Mustelid 144
Phil, was that your dog? Thought I recognised him... that's Moss, the collie that started the thread! He's still alive, though long retired. He's without doubt the best all round dog I've known. I'll show Hywel that picture when we're ferreting in the morning. You're right, he would have been worth using on a greyhound bitch! No,..I've had several collies,..that one belonged to Hywel,...a keen rabbiting man from Aberdare...
