pegleg33 134
Does anyone go regular? I'm looking at purchasing a new van and was wondering what prices they were fetching. I'm interested in either Vivaro/Traffic/primestar or Dispatch/Relay/Scudo. Or if there's somewhere online I could look to see what prices they're fetching and if I can see what's going through at the auctions. Russ

gnasher16 31,602
Buying 1 van through a commercial auction your unlikely to get any better of a deal than you would with a private no vat sale.

I know what you're saying, was just trying to get some feed back on prices. I've found someone doing new shape 2010 for £4995+ vat with around 80k which I can't see me finding cheaper but thought I'd ask around. Russ

Russ I wouldnt know what they fetch these days all i was saying is folk often think they are getting bargains from an auction when they,re often better off flicking through the Auto Trader.........used to get rid of 3 or 4 vans per week back years ago if your getting your vat back just look on a big forecourt find a van thats been there a few weeks and make them an offer they,ll more than likely let it go for a bit under just to keep their stock moving. bracken boy 584
You would be surprised how many big name car showrooms buy from auctions, how do i know? Picked a ford up at bca as a favour then bang twos days later it was on forcourt and sold by end of week so beware.

04fox8 168
Bit of a Lottery the auctions. As said, Commercial + VAT, + Buyers Fee (beside us anyway) + VAT on that too!! You could be lucky and get a bargain, but there is pleanty of sh**e being punted through.....No comeback for the seller. Once bought a Hyundai (It was cheap) Went to take it home, and it only had 2 forward gears, and no reverse! Priced up a gearbox from scrappies....More than the car cost! It got a pollish and put back through the ring next week!
