jagd.lad 31
thats pups not a jagdterrier. your best bet on getting a jagd is get one imported from europe mate everyone who has them over here including myself are keeping them close and not selling to just anyone so the breed dont get ruined and thats mainly why the price is so high so that not just anyone will buy one work it and flog it when seasons over and buy another next season. if i was you id look into getting a dog and bitch imported from good stock and breed your own in a few years when your wanting something out of them. atb Quote Link to post
unlacedgecko 1,467
Don't get why people rave about Jagdterrier. They can be bought quite cheaply €40 on the continent. Like every other terrier, there are good and bad lines. Just cos it's a Jagdterrier doesn't mean it's worth feeding. Reckon there will be plenty of black and tan rough coated terriers sold for silly money under the label of Jagdterrier. 4 Quote Link to post
jack-percival 25
It's people that keep things to close that ruin sports and traditions as they never contribute or pass things on..... I've had a pmd from the continent who has really nice dogs, when I get chance this afternoon I'm going to email him back and make some serious enquirys, if the best dogs come from the continent then why arent they bothered about ruining the lines, reason is they know the lines wont be ruined and there happy to help the sport and breed grow, it's the import costs that makes people think there dogs worth a fortune and its not, it's the dogs ability whether it be a jack Russell or cocker spaniel, just because you've bought a dog from abroad doesn't mean that dogs got any better chance than a uk bred dog, what I mean is, just because someone's paid 200 for a pup then 800 to have it shipped over, doesn't make the dog worth 1000.. I've seen a few members uk bred jagd pups and i would be just as happy owning one of them as much as an imported pup, main reason I was trying to steer clear of an imported pup is I wanted to get one at 8wks, if imported I think earliest i could have one would be around 12 wks..... Thankyou jack.. Dig deep and throw well back 2 Quote Link to post
Jachtterrier 50
what are the jaged like below ground have not been able to find ou most ive seen hve been for bushing when you only want to use them below ground then just use a pat. jagds do their work below ground but are not better as a patterdale. when you want to use them for bushing also they are really handy.
