porkybella 284
Had a great day yesterday such a shame about the weather. Even tho is hammered it down thundered and lightning it didnt stop any of our lads. I had a lovely drive home soaked thru to the bone for 3hr 20 mins . All part of the fun. Im sure the other lads enjoyed it too to let you know scores and how they found it. Anyway i scored 49 in both comps thought that was a great score permitting the weather but there you go. It was well organised food was great too. Will be deffo going next year 2 Quote Link to post
risingfriend 1,042
Will second that mate cracking day scored and 42 in first round and then a 51 second course was happy with scores considering the courses and great to catch up with all the thl members for the usual banter. deffo going next year Quote Link to post

Deffo mate weather wasn't to kind sunny and windy for the morning shoot with mostly elevated shots, and thunder and lightning and torrential rain and wind for the afternoon shoot having said that i found i concentrated more in the afternoon and scored better in what i thought was the harder of the two courses lots of small kills with minimal room for error around the kill zone, its a funny old game LOL gotta say though it was by far the the trickiest and well thought out course i have shot. still enjoyed it and some superb shooting by the winners with some 58s etc. And i take my hat of to the guys in the shoot off, Kneeling unsupported shots whilst being watched by all, the pressure must be immense. cracking day out and Air arms is deffo worth attending. Gaz 177 263
Got to say apart from the mentioned weather, I thoroughly enjoyed the day / competition I did shoot consistantly, consistantly mediocre that is scoring a 42 in both rounds Has to be the most challenging and well laid out course that I have ever competed in to date Will deffo go again next year Quote Link to post
4sight 31
Enjoyed every minute of it. Hopefully I will be there next year as well. There was some great shooting going on (despite the weather~). Dave Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
I enjoyed it too . A very good setup, but a long day if you live north. If you live in the Midlands and above its a fair old drive. The 2 courses were very well designed and challenging, and the wind, mud and rain made it even more challenging . I did rubbish in the morning, even managed 5 doughnuts (yes 5 feckers) and my lowest ever HFT score of a massive 32 embarrassing points on the bottom course, but then went on to score a nice 41 on the top course which for me i was well happy with shooting a .22 springer. Defo worth people trying to make the next one if you have not been to one before. Si. 1 Quote Link to post
porkybella 284
5 krispy kremes ? Na si the course was well challenging especially for .22. There wernt even much meat around the killzones. You should of used the 98 mate. Had mine back yesterday gonna run it in this week for odp if ur coming?? 1 Quote Link to post
gurtwurz 793
It was a proper tricky course again there, both of them, so I'm quite pleased that I got 34 and 36 since I was stuck doing kneelers throughout with my .22 springer to be honest. Since I can't shoot competitively I just come along to enjoy the day with pals and to tuck into free food lol there was plenty of both there so I thought it was a cracking day. Nice to meet some new faces and bump into the usual suspects too. 3 Quote Link to post
Marksman 934
Sounds like a load of fun lads, well done on the scores with what seems like a challenging course given the conditions. Darryl 1 Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Thats it Rob, youve hit the nail on the head. With almost 90% of the kill zones on the bottom course being right at the top of the knock down. 1 bit of over range estimation and you get a creamy one. The top course for a .22 shooter was much better. 1 Quote Link to post
