NEWKID 29,171
Is it just me or does it take for ever when your working on your house, this small extension keeps on going... I've taken the week off and I'm working on the bloody house... It feels like there's no end.. My missus wanted to use a building firm, I wanted to use my mates... I don't think I'll ever hear the end of it lol..
Malt 379
If it's any consolation Kev, my cousin is having an extension built by a team of builders, it's taken 2X as long as was originally planned!
shootinforfood 18
I usually find that working on my own or my fathers house takes a lot longer than working on customers houses. maybe its because we stop for tea more often and don't mind having a bit of a chat instead of getting our heads down and getting the job done so we can be off to the next

Cheers Arch, that's made my day lol... Perfect down here today too, overcast but warm... I really fancy a morning on the river, but we've got my wife's cousin and family coming over from Guernsey on Thursday for the weekend and the place is like a building site... But I'm taking him fishing on Friday..!!!

Outlaw Pete 2,224
I think all men are the same, I can do it so I won't pay attitude lol.. Sod that! I love paying some bugger else to do it! Try it. It's great fun! Just breeze by, occasionally, survey what the professionals are creating for ye. Watch them overcome any unforeseen difficulties. Now, this epically proportioned fencing(s) project I have on right now? Different. I can 'do it' well enough. And the f**king Cost of having it done any other way would be astronomic! No. I'll do a little bit of this. Bit of that. Amusing myself with a pass time. But, I've long since learned; For the serious shit? Pay some bugger!

NEWKID 29,171
I've paid a few trades as well, but it's my mates, it just takes longer, after work or weekends etc... I'll get there, I dine the same in my last house, ripped the kitchen out then picked a job up near Bridgend, was gone for 11 weeks, my long suffering wife was washing the dishes in the shower, I should've learnt by now...
