leegreen 2,244
I have a Rivers West Jacket, Ranger I think. Had it two seasons so far and all good. Had a zip broke once sent away Monday and back before the weekend. They have a ten year waterproof guarantee! Are as tough as, you can force yourself through brambles etc with no damage. Put up with a fair bit of barb wire too, I've not managed to rip mine. With the sweat thing, mine has a zip front and under arm zips/vents, so not much of a problem for me. Also I'm not that sweaty! trenchfoot 4,243
The fact that they soak up water that hangs around the cuffs and hem is a MAJOR issue. Drying out takes ages. they don't leak but you have to shake excess off them all the time to try and reduce it. They are very tough and will stand up to hard work but they are not what they were made out to be in the press. Graft hard in them in anything other than cold temps and you will sweat like a paedo on a school bus If waterproof, dry 90% of the time garments are what you are after, then look elsewhere. sikastag_1 689
Iv 2 rivers west jackets one is the smock you do sweat in it if heavy walking but iv sat in it in severe rain and when shooting geese in very cold minus temps with just that and a t shirt on and iv been fine like said above its a good quad jacket. So if your sitting about a lot ferreting, shooting pigeons ducks geese etc then it's ideal but if you walk a lot I'd look elsewhere there's loads of jackets that are good just depends on budget.
