8shot 192
right another pain in the ringer , just sold all my spearfishing gear on ebay. the lad that bought it was only down in cornwall and I offered to deliver it for him. he refused and said he would send a courier alarm bells now ringing... well he text me and said the courier would be at my house at 7pm. well 11am the door rang and it was the bloody courier. I had not wrapped or got a box for all the gear sorted thought I still had a few hours.. I spoke to the courier and said I havnt got anything to put it in and said if I just put the gear in a couple of black bags and put loads of tape round it . he said it was fine. well ust had a message from the buyer. saying he not happy with the packaging and that the weight belt with weights are missing and asking me for his money back .... ive told him I will happily give him a refund excluding the money for the weight beltr and weights..... lets just say he really aint happy now. as he got a spear gun flippers 70 quid new mask snorkel and the weight belt with weights. the auction was a buy it now price of 75 quid. and as I dsaid I offered him a refund excluding the belt and weight whick would work out to be a refund of about 6 pounds. where do I stand on this one. I really think im going to close my account after this one as its nothing but hastle im a private seller and don't have to offer returns at all .
Outlaw Pete 2,224
I really think im going to close my account after this one as its nothing but hastle ..... Suggestion? Ask your bank to cancel and reissue what ever card you have attached to your ebay / paypal account. Then cancel both and have nothing more to do with that shower of thieves and liars. Otherwise, you'll find they have retained the 'right' to go down that plastics number and help themselves to what ever they fancy from your f**king bank account! Don't give them a heads up! nobjerk 161
if he has paid by paypal he can start a grievance and they will put the money on hold in your paypal account until the matter is resolved , they usually go in favour of the buyer (im guessing he probably knows this) but if you present your case explaining the circumstances and providing the info from the courier and all corespondance between yourselves they may decide in your favour .you may be able to start this before him which will go in your favour on the honesty stakes , but dont give in and explain that you will give a full refund if ALL the kit is returned in the condition it was sent , you do not have to refund the postage costs send or return fees from either party . good luck

Outlaw Pete 2,224
ive tried this before and ended up with a debt collection agency sending letters threatening legal action F**king hell!!! :icon_eek: Wow! Well doesn't That just go to show why it's simply best to stay the f**k away from these scum in the first place? My account got hacked. 'I' started selling high end gear, which never arrived. I was getting messages from upset people, asking where their gear was. Then, ebay lifted a chunk of cash out of my account, to compensate someone claiming I'd bumped them! Then, ebay realised what had happened. That I too was a completely innocent victim. Know what they said? They said they'd deduct the money they'd taken from my bank off my future sellers fees!!! Err; Goodbye!!! And, to this day, Years later, I still get my regular, monthly invoice. Demanding I pay Them the outstanding balance They owe Me! Teach your f**king grand kids, people: " Stay The F**k Away From Ebay / Pay Pal!!! ".

Blackbriar 8,569
Mate of mine deals a fair bit on E-Bay and he's been stung a few times. Personally, I'd give the shysters a wide berth! (Mind you, if I do see something I fancy, I get him to order it for me and give him the cash!)
