.22 Caliber Hw100Kt Group

Recommended Posts

Hi lads,

After testing 5 quality brands of pellet today in my .22 HW100KT (AA Fields, H & N FTT, Webley Accupels, RWS Super Field and Falcon Accuracy Plus) and carrying out the near and far calibration method on it with the best brand, here is a group shot at 25 meters in doors at Glevum range today.

The winners were the Air Arms Fields followed by H and N then followed by Falcon AP.

All brands could easily 1 hole at 25 meters but non as tight as AA Fields.

Chrono data from my Alpha chroni over 10 shots =

Average velocity = 566 fps = 11.31 FPE with a very low shot consistency :toast: .

With the SR Pro reticule its works out that on 9.5 mag i get 5 meter intervals perfectly from a 25 meter zero.

For anyone interested in a accurate BC for AA Fields. I make it 0.0316 via the near and far calibration method.

I thought that this may come in handy for you Scott once you get your HW100KT in .22.

Si.

Very good Si . I find AA fields very good as well but Falcon are the best through my HWKT .22. putting them through a polo mint at 30 yards

Have you tried AA hunters same weight I find them a little bit better than the fields if that is possible at range

Yes mate the AA comp.

Me and Davy are both now booked and paid.

Cool this year any rifle make counts in the AA comp so the wolf and HW100KT will be good calls.

Steve as informed me that the hamster he as made for me is better than his one and that he is making another one like mine for himself.

Top man he is.

Sunday sounds great mate. It will be a good tester for my range estimation if im shooting against your .177 wolf and Garys 177 HW100KT with the .22 HW100KT.

Hopefully I will be able to stay within 4 or 5 points of you both fingers crossed.

Im going to do a new tread and try and get more to come on Sunday.

Si.

What do you think of AA Fields VS JSB Exacts? I used to use only AA Field but now use JSB Exacts due to them having stronger skirts.

The softer skirts produce a superior seal with the lands and grooves of the barrel

I've used many pellets in my baby and I always come back to AAF's when I want a tighter group

Yo nice one Si, already got some .22 FTT 5.53, and gaystate rangemaster Li's. and some bisley magnum and hobby aswell. from when I had the 97kt .22

if you have a chrono record for all the pellets you used would you mind pm'ing me the results, or letting me know the pellet that gave the highest readings, so I can hopefully keep mine under the limit when I get it,...

was going to get a tin of AA fields to try aswell as the ones I already have. and probably some falcon AP and some sperfields to try aswell.

got another noob question... do pcp have to 'bed in' like a springer..????????

if I chrono it straight away with pellet X ,say its 11.4 for example, will it rise in power like a springer would.?

im buying brand new and intent to get quite a lot of lead through it to bed it in. probably aim for 1000 pellets in a few weeks. going to look like Arnie after all the pumping  then after its settled properly if it goes over it will be getting sent to get turned down.

also what about cleaning the barrel, from brand new.. is this a good idea? heard there is an o-ring you can accidently pull out with a pull through barrel cleaning kit :icon_eek:

cheers for your help Si your a top guy.
