As dog men,..we all know when trouble is coming and take appropriate steps to protect our valuable lurchers,.but the general public do not understand hunting dogs,..and get worried.... Gaz_1989 9,539
you know your dogs are sound but to a stranger that dont know them they could be man eating dog killers, your lucky they never gave your pup a swift kick. yeh true , you right But if bloke shouted to you ok mate ,he is only a pup he 10 month old pup, and still kicked him , well the pup wouldnt be the only 1 getting kicked .! So what if in the above scenario it was your dog bounding up to me and I didn't get chance to boot it in the face. As you shout "he's only 10 months mate" my bitch fires in and start ripping shreds out of him? What then? Would I be in the wrong? no you would be in order, but in the eyes of the law your dog would fall under the dangerous dog act . Well we all know the law is the biggest joke there is Quote Link to post

skycat 6,174
Need eyes in the back of your head these days with so many people out with their pets. Some of my lurchers are a fair size compared to most pet mutts I see, so I always play safe and get them on the lead, even though they are friendly. The little pet mutt doesn't know that when there's a massive lurcher bearing down on it a warp speed and I have one that is too friendly: daft as a brush, everyone's his friend, but his size and speed are intimidating to small dogs. Unfortunately for us, these pet walkers have just as much right as we do to roam the land Quote Link to post

Any dog owner should lead up there charge, when approaching other dogs its just common sence.. If its such a problem for anyone they should not walk there dogs in public places.. Jmo thats fair enough Giro but what if the other dog owner leaves there's off the lead?? personally if they dont put there dog on i take mine back off the lead, as it can make things worse, plus if it's a big horrible fecker she stands more chance off the lead than if they attack whilst she is on it Quote Link to post

I would just avoid the public places saves hassle allround.. Quote Link to post
