Old Down Pursuits Thl Meet

Recommended Posts

Nice to meet you today mate, and everyone else for the first time! We won't tell them who came last as it will spoil the surprise ha ha, watch the video when it goes live guys!

The level of spring rifle shooting was really high today and the scores were all within a point or two of each other. The winds were causing havoc to begin with.

Really enjoyable day, highlight for me was watching someone's moderator go flying of the end of their rifle about 20 feet in the air and land behind me in a bush ha ha!

Top shooting lads, some of those 'easy' shots got the better of me, still kicking myself now lol!

Can't wait for the next one, met some new friends today, had a good laugh and dispelled some myths hey pianoman ;-)

I did think about coming up ,had the go head with the wife then had a phone call from one of my customers saying they had no electrics  .

Came back took the 97k on to my range and could not put a group together, so the call out was a blessing in disguise .

Just back at Helen's after a beer with Davy and Chas. Modesty forbids me from revealing the final scores in the spring rifle friendly, but, all will be revealed in due course .. and it was a close-run thing. For my close mate Andy who tuned my HW97. ..Top job mate! The rifle is a beauty to shoot!

Great day with great lads and seriously top spring rifle shooting from all. And as has been said before, it's nice to meet the lads behind the avatars, and see how different they are from how we imagine each other to look! Can't wait to meet up again and shoot with you all again.

Best wishes to everyone

Simon

I been lurking on the forum for a month or two now. I'm looking to get back into air gunning after a thirty year break and decided this morning to pop over to Old Down Pursuits to check out what FHT was all about.

It was great to meet Si, Davy and Simon today and very informative to watch them shooting. Amazing how much the technology has developed in the last thirty years .... my last air rifle was a 1977 HW35 Export .22 as a teenager!

I will definitely be trying HFT in the near future .... I just need to decide which club to join and get a lot of target practice in.

Thanks also to the forum member from Surrey (sorry I have forgotten your name) who let me try his SFS Stage 2 tuned HW97KT on the plinking range. I can't wait to get the telephone call from Sandwell Field Sports to say that mine is now ready for collection!
