best thing to do is walk them first thing morning last thing at night stay away from the hottest hours of the day do them no harm to stay in their pens and sunbathe days like that

I wrote this on another forum a few years back ........   i have been asked to put this up as the weather is still hot and the dangers of heat stroke are very much in the forefront .....   heatstr

Re Sandymere's earlier post: I remember reading once that one of those breeds with a corded/felted coat (either puli or komondor) was just as effective at keeping out heat as keeping them warm. I suppose it's a bit like wrapping a snowman up with clothing to stop it melting! :blink:

 

I don't get that problem with my three kelpies...when it's over 30 in the shade in the middle of summer they're still looking for a sunny spot to lay in...bloody nutters! :laugh:
