Carraghs Gem 1,699
Bit far for jigsaw... He prefers his goats free range i think lol .... Was tempted to buy that bear trap but the price was too rich for me... Sold a nanny goat with kid and bought another pedigree goat... Then went on to a horse auction

OldTrapCollector 377
The trap is a reproduction Gem - certainly not worth the price you mentioned OTC
Saluki246 1,053
Use to go to that fair years ago back in the 90's, good craic back then and got some good deals... Got a decent hunting knife their that lasted for years, lost it gutting a deer one morning! Good job you did not buy that trap, pure con that at that silly price! I remember some of the goats that were at the fair back then, were pure wild, caught on mountains bogs ect and crammed into trailers and bought to the fair, some of the prices they were asking for these wild goats was a joke..lol ! Not sure what its like now a days at the that fair.
Carraghs Gem 1,699
Mainly scrub type goats although 1 man brought pedigrees and i bought a quality first x kid from him... Couldve been the weather but i only counted 16goats this year for sale including the 2 i sold, quieter than previous years but that was due to several factors mainly the weather, some confusion over the date this year and because it clashed with a horse and pony auction at the mart in castlerea, there was a lot of poultry sellers and antiques type sellers, a few horses, ponys donkeys sheep and calves... When i eventually landed at the auction in castlerea i saw a lot of dodges who you would normally see selling at foxford... although i did see a lot of stock trade hands in foxford. Price of horses was pretty dire in castlerea, childrens riding ponys sold for under 200, unbroken ponys 5-75euro including connemaras... Larger light horses averaged out at 350 although hunters and quality riding cobs went from 700-1500 Saw a heavyweight cob sell for 700 and fell in love with a brown stallion hunter type that had sold prior to my arrival or id have bought him
Carraghs Gem 1,699
The trap is a reproduction Gem - certainly not worth the price you mentioned OTC Thats why i dont buy things i know nothing about and part of the reason i posted the pic of it up here... If it had been genuine and worth the money i could go back to the seller and buy it as i got his phone number in case my instincts were wrong about it, ive been caught out before with reproduction stuff made in india to look older than it is
