Morning Or Night

Hi all iv been on my new permission for a bit now and have started getting bags for the pot. Iv been at all times of the day morning evenings and through the night and it seems there's no patterns emerging when the rabbits prefer to be out don't know what it's like in the day as I have to make myself scarse when the peskey golfers turn up.

So I'm just woundering what your preferred time of the day is for hunting

I'm contemplating going out after my Indian tonight or early in the morning I don't think I could power through till the morning

Early morning to mid day would be my favourite time to hunt not that I don't enjoy everytime I get out

Evening around 8 - 10 pm rabbits will be out feeding and after a shot they will all bolt back in, but will come out with 30 -40 min whereas in the morning they normaly bolt and stay in for longer.

Yes it seams in the evening they are on there way out for the night and if you catch them then more will follow I think for hunting I agree with you 7 onwards but for the pleasure it's got to be a cool crisp morning

i think with rabbits being a prey animal they feel safer at night in the dark.. thats why lamping/NV is so effective.

on a quiet day they will come out but they are a lot more weary.. all it takes is one fox or cat or dog to come by and they will probably stay in all day

Were I shot you would think there was no bunnys about come 6pm on a nice warm day there's loads about and as sed else were shot one if the others bolt 20 mins later there out again

Evening for rabbits, the kits round my way are out most of the day but the bigness come out late evening, pigeons I can never get a bead on but I reakon mornings would be better

now my NV is sorted,i prefer the night time shooting,we didn,t see any in the mornings for months then once i had a walk round with the red GL4 and the fields where swarming with rabbits,so night time for me defo
