For Sale Several Shotguns And Firearms Most Antique

Hi my Dad has recently passed away increasing my firearms count from 2 to 19 and my shotgun count from 2 to 50!!

 

Basically i live in shropshire and my Mum dumfrieshire in scotland.

 

We Have several rifles to get our best money for a 22/250 with weaver scope, parker hale .270 ruger 10/22 in mint condition and a 12gauge combination with 9mm undernieth, other rifled antiques

 

In the shotguns there is a Macnaughton of edinburgh with dumaskus barrels and only a 4 digit seriel no. Several external hammered side by side shotguns 12g and 410. Several shotguns a bit different(side loading and other strange mechanisms)

 

There is a crossbow and also some other things like a bearskin rug, leapordskin rug, stuffed goshawk,otter in case,pine martin, red squirrels,black grouse, buzzard, kestrel, and also a pile of bayonets.

 

Also some african shoulder mounts from when he was there in 1998 2x oryx, 2x cudu ,zebra ,warthog skull,

 

Also in shoulder mount is a goat, 10 point sika, a BIG roaring red stag 2xtarr, chamia and also about 30 roe as skull mounts some chinese water deer and muntjac as skull mounts too.

 

Also at least 2 45 gallon drums full of red deer cast antlers..

 

I think i have most of the stuff to sell, there is no rush for it to be sold and it is all in scotland at the moment. A lot of my problem is in the value of some of it (macnaughton, shoulder mounts) your ideas of values would be very helpfull.

Thanks Lads, A little more info on the gos hawk,, Its very good looking mounted on fallow antlers still with its jesses on i believe. I will see if i can get a pic sent of it.

 

We have contacted a dealer but need to be aware of the values ourselves and i dont want my mum to be ripped off.

its not a dealer you want its an auctioneer its in his interest to get as much as possible for the goods were as a dealer will want to pay as little as possible

Sorry to hear of your loss, must be difficult for you.Paulus has given the best advice I think.If you could get a good local auctioneer would be good, lower fees than the big boys like Bonhams!If you do want to sell on here or any forum you will need to put up some pics, as obviously the guys like to see what their buying! they will also advise on the legalities of anything thats abit dodgy, like the the taxidermy and skins they have to meet criteria to be sold legally
