Jack Bodell certainly knew how to fight behind a good defence -:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Love watching old British heavies - some good old boys in amongst them...

A guy at work floored Bodell when he came to the Dogs at Coalville years ago and was taking liberties . Bodell came back later with a few mates and took revenge.

Albert (The guy at work RIP) Had mahoooooosive hands and spent 42 years digging holes for the Jointers at work.

Nice chap. Albert that is.........

Yep thats right.

Albert died a few years ago. Did 42 years digging on the Leccy board, on the day he left he went home and put a shirt and tie on and came back into work. There was no one from higher managment there to shake his hand and say thanks. Sad really.

I agree Gnasher 100 %. A great era for welterweights and middleweights...Robinson was an entertainer of the highest order watched a documentary on him the other night and for a man who'd had 200 bouts -some brutal encounters too - between 1940 and 1965 he was extremely lucid, relatively unmarked and coherent...great fighter... :toast:
