Lab 10,979
Lab.....that put it in to perspective.....we just need to get used to it.........once the generation die of that remembers 66 it will get easier ........ ...Thats the thing with Scotland, we know we are shite so its good when we actually play well. Really getting pissed off now that were not qualifying for any tournaments....miss it.. I can also see the other side of the coin because supporting Celtic i know the "expected to win" feeling which most of you English lads have. I dont see that as a bad thing.......you have good individual players, your problem is trying to get them to combine as a team. Still think Harry is your man to do that.......so the longer he doesn't get asked the better i sleep at night....
baw 4,360
You say we are shit....but who are you comparing us to Spain and Germany ?.....The worlds greatest international sides................yes we are a long way behind those nations but you could just as easily compare us to inferior nations as compare us to nations better than us.................but then i suppose we wouldnt be English if we didnt slate our own The national team gives a strong indication on how good a countries league is doing. How many of the England squad play in the prem for the top sides?

How many of the England squad play in the prem for the top sides? Baw that is possibly one of the most backward statements you have ever come out with !..........Why is a national team a strong indication of how good that countries league is ..............The English premier league is one of the top leagues in World football, the national team is far from that............The Germans are a great national side but only recently is their league coming up to scratch.......Italy,Argentina and Brazil are some of the greatest sides in the history of International football but their leagues are relatively poor. I know you have a constant desire to slag English football mate but its still got to make sense

gnasher16 31,602
What cracks me up about the national side is how otherwise loyal football fans can be so honest..........a Leeds,Liverpool,West Ham fan can say " we are shit " with no hesitation about England.................while in the next breath saying " Liverpool are a great side " ....or whoever it might be. Thats our trouble we all loyally " support " our clubs but have no loyalty whatsoever when it comes to our country....well most of us anyway. Suppose that comes down to decisions you make in your life. You decide to support a football team your born into your National side. Ive been to my fair share of Scotland games....never went for the flowing football or the winning. ..i went for the banter, the drink and the day out to get behind the team. Infact i dont think ive ever been to a Scotland game which ment anything....its only ever been friendlies ive been too. Oh and i dont think i'd ever cry if we got beat from a side........not that ive cried after loosing a cup final......
