Beaters Tax

Recommended Posts

Not worried about the tax was just thinking by the time you pay fuel etc youd have nothing left! I know a lot of guys do it for nothing but when it's my source of income over the season then I was slightly worried! I'll take not of them names lab haha

Reminds me of the time HMRC tried to tax money won in fishing matches. All well and fine 'til every matchman started to try claim the cost of every bit of fishing gear, bait etc as tax deductable. IF HMRC go ahead with this beaters need to claim for EVERYTHING tax deductable for their 'job'. Clothing, footwear, equipment, dogs, dog food, vets bills, dog insurance, dog lead, vehicle, fuel etc. HMRC need to be swamped with claims for as much as you can legally claim for.

On the other hand I can't see how they can hope to enforce it. If it is a LACS led grassing to HMRC, do LACS declare the cash bribes paid to their protestors and sabs to the taxman and benefits office? :whistling:

It'll work out better for the beaters surely? Just getting the VAT back on a decent coat would more than recoup the income tax payed for beating, never mind everything else! Am I being naive or is that really the case? If it is, crack on HMRC!
