Sunday 19th May 2013, Lurcher, Whippet, Terrier & Family
Dog Show, showing to commence at 1pm, Causeway Cross, Ipplepen, Newton Abbot,
Devon, TQ12 5TB, on the A381 from Newton Abbot to Totnes, will be signposted £2
entry cap recommended per vehicle.

Over night camping available.

Coursing 9am book in for 9.30am Start, Rosettes to 3rd in
each class, Various show qualifiers for Lurchers, Whippets and Terriers.
Refreshments on Site,

Was this show held at buckfastleigh about 10 years ago?

dont think it was this show mate... but they still do it down buckfastly. . :thumbs:

No not this show this has only been running two years, buckfastleigh should be being held on the 4th & 5th May this year, but look up website near the time for details :thumbs:

There will also be simulated coursing, hurdles and straight racing on Saturday 11am book in nothing to serious just gives the dogs chance to stretch there legs for the campers and anyone else who fancies popping along

Results;

 

Stonelands spring show was held on Sunday 19th May, in Ipplepen, South Devon, with 4 rings for Lurcher, Whippets Terrrier and Family Dogs.

Lurcher puppy champion was Jeff White’s ‘Fizz’ with Kim Shepherds ‘Ripple’ taking reserve. Lurcher champion was Phillip Hughes’ Buck with Denise Southcott’s ‘Tilly’ in reserve, lurchers were judged by Andrew Banfield.

 

Terriers were judges by Kevin O’Donoghue who awarded terrier pup champion to Andy Brewers ‘Woody’ with Tracy Tomans ‘Gin’ taking reserve. Terrier champion was Andy Brewers ‘Ziggy’ with ’Bertie’ also owned by Andy taking reserve.

Whippet puppy champion was awarded to Jane Thompson’s ‘Woody’ which was judged by Debbie Mumford who then awarded Sue Davey’s ‘Bertie’ as champion Whippet with Tish Curran’s ‘Fallow’ taking reserve.

Simulated Coursing champion was Troy with Basil taking reserve both dogs owned by Paul and Alison Studdy.

Unders hurdles champion was Flash owned by Greg Rosamond, Overs Hurdles champion was Basil, unders working sprint was also won by Flash and again Basil took top spot in the Overs working sprint. Open unders sprint was won by…. And the overs open sprint was won by Jo Williams Maggie.

      QUALIFIERS are available to GB SHOW ORGANISERS for the following CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS
                                                     at the IRISH GAME FAIR, Shanes Castle, Antrim on the 29/30 June.
      1. FIVE NATIONS WHIPPET CHAMPIONSHIP
      2. FIVE NATIONS LURCHER CHAMPIONSHIP
      3. FIVE NATIONS TERRIER CHAMPIONSHIPS
      4. MASTER MC GRATH LURCHER CHALLENGE  Two dogs to qualify from each show ( over and under 23")
      5. MICK THE MILLER CHALLENGE for Traditional HAIRY LURCHERS any size. Two to qualify from each show. 
      EACH CHAMPIONSHIP HAS £200 to the Winner £50 to the Runner Up plus other prizes and quality trophies.   As the 31st ANNUAL All Ireland Championships ( Showing & Racing) also take place this weekend ( which are open all ) qualifiers can have a real opportunity to compete for titles and prizes with the best of Irish dogs. 
      To recognise the additional costs of coming to the event for GB qualifiers, they get FREE tickets to the show and special ferry and accommodation rates and each GB qualifying event organiser gets £50 for their best in show winner.

      Show time again folks! 
      Fell and moorland wtc are holding in there summer show again in good old Lancashire. 
      Get yourself and the family down to support this club. All the cash made gose back to the members if they have a dog stuck and need a rescue. 
      All the usual classes for the terriers and the running dogs. Champion bull X  and child handler for the kids! 
      And Anyone wanting to show there Bedlingtons we have a class for them as well. 
      Qualifiers for champion of champions at the Midlands, Pride of the peaks and more! 
      Food and drinks available on site, trade stalls welcome
