snoopdog 1,256 Posted July 20, 2007 Report Share Posted July 20, 2007 I WILL BE UPING THE ANTI WITH THE TRAINING OF THE POOCH GETTING HIM TO FULL FITTNESS HES A TOUCH HEAVY AT THE MOMENT WEIGHING 56 1/2 POUNDS AND I THINK HE WILL BE RUNNING AT HIS BEST AROUND THE 52LB -53LB ITS A BIT OF A LEARNING CURVE THIS SEASON AS IT WILL BE HIS FIRST FULL ONE ....IAM GOING TO START HIM ON THE ROAD WORK 3 TIMES A WEEK MAYBE 2-3 MILES A NIGHT UPING THAT TO FOUR MILES THE START OF SEPTEMBER HOPEFULLY HAVING HIM ON FULL FORM MID NOVEMBER AND LAMPING TWO NIGHTS A WEEK AND MOOCHING COME BUSHING ONE DAY AT THE WEEKEND AND A DAY OF REST .. JUST THOUGHT I WOULD PUT A PIC UP OFF HIM THAT I TOOK ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO ....LIKE I SAY HE HEAVY AT THE MO AND JUST AVERAGE FITTNESS ..IAM GOING TO COME BACK TO THIS THREAD IN NOVEMBER AND COMPARE HIS MUSCEL FORMATOIN AND OVER ALL LOOKS .....MAYBE SOME OTHER FOLK WHO GET THERE DOGS READY IN A SIMULAR WAY FOR THE SEASON COULD PUT A PIC UP TO AND THEN COMPARE THEM IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS ....THE PIC Quote Link to post

Hi Snoops,it's funny that,i noticed the Pendle Hill in the background was up that way a few weeks back walking the pup,was in Nelson area in a quarry that's been 'regenerated' for walkers etc; Higgins. I do notice they get that bit harder looking when they start lamping again, something i dont think i could get exercising them. Snoops looks in very good condition anyway Snoop MOLL. Just asking because I had a friend who swam for Wales at the Commonwealth Games and he said he was fit for swimming but couldn't run if his life depended on it - if he was being chased he'd just have to run to some water and swim away Maybe it's different for dogs though? Just wondering because I think one of mine would swim but I haven't particularly focussed on it as a fitness technique. Very nice dog too snoop. Look forward to seeing his progress.
