Rebellious guest 2
Dog has split his pad quite badly on glass I think. Been cleaning it in salt water solution and keeping him on the lead and got a boot 2 keep the bandage dry but a mate told me there is a tar like substance u can put on that helps but doesn't know what it's called. [NO TEXT TALK] else got any tips other than don't run dogs on glass. Quote Link to post

bendrover 556
if you stay near enough the beach ,its worth a £10 fuel to walk the dog in the sea water watch the results 1 Quote Link to post
paulus 26
just keep doing what you are doing, split pads take a while to heal and staples or glue wont work as they squash out when weight is applied on them plus if you seal it then theres a chance you will seal in any infection Quote Link to post

socks 32,253
Stockholm tar is the stuff you are on about BUT YOU NEED TO TAKE THE BANDAGE OFF. .... The dog needs air on the wound to dry it and help promote re growth and attachment mate ... One of my bitches has taken over half her main pad off about a week ago and it is already healing ... The bandage will keep it damp and mankey get it off .......... Quote Link to post

RossM 8,149
Keep it clean and le the dog do what it does if you can cover with something waterproof whilst walking and allow it to air at other times, I got an old drip bag from my vet and used that when walking. Quote Link to post
