Remember going to Great Yarmouth to one of the caravan parks with my mate and his family when i was 17 for a weekend. Not alot to do during the day so we got a ball and learned that flick over the head trick. Ended up playing 2 lads and there 2 young sons in on the astro turf.....Hammers fans i think. Anyway mid game i thought f**k it i'll try it, caught it sweet, lifted it right over the guys head, ran past him and caught the ball on the volley and the b*****d smacked the post. ......They lads must have been thinking "What the f**k do we have here!!".... On the continent the young skilful players are encouraged to play and develop in a minimal contact environment and all the while we teach our youngsters to kick f**k out of any player showing a bit of flair! It's the general attitude like that towards those who stand out that's partly to blame for the amount of foreign doctors in our hospitals. Loads of kids hide their abilities and fail to reach their potential as adults for fear of getting picked on for being bright and it's the same in sports. Just look at the way the media build up our bright stars then then meticulously look for reasons to shoot them down again as another example. It's a whole culture of envy we could do without..
