AirgunGuy 362
Decided last minute to take the young Whippet out for a run on the lamp. Wasn't the best of nights conditions wise as there was no wind but at least it was pitch black with no moon and plenty cloud cover. There wasn't many out but he managed a good half dozen. Most were fairly easy for him but a couple were on very short grass and were going like fcuk. He caught up with them well and nailed before hitting cover. I think that's 14 in the last week so i'm delighted with his progress. Great feeling Pics aren't best! Edited December 18, 2012 by AirgunGuy 1 Quote Link to post

AirgunGuy 362
Fair play pal, what age is your dog?. He's 19 months mate. I got him in June. He'd done a wee bit of work with the previous owner but not much. I've been doin a bit of ferreting and lamping with him since i got him but he is fairly inexperienced though seems to be taking to it ok. It's only very recently that i've been able to put a reasonable amount of rabbits in front of him so i'm delighted he's doin well as he's my 1st running dog Edited December 18, 2012 by AirgunGuy Quote Link to post

Spot on mate. It's not about big numbers for me either...it's just about gettin out there and gettin him a few runs. I feel guilty if i don't get him a rabbit or 2 as he's more than capable so it's down to me to get the right ground and let him do the rest. I would love to get him on decent ground with plenty bunnies and really push him all night to see how he'd respond. Whippets not being notorious for their staying power but i really think he'd do well and is improving all the time Quote Link to post
